Can someone clean my fish tank?

Yes! If you currently have a fish tank that you don’t have the time or equipment to care for yourself, we will come take care of it for you. We are a husband & wife owner-operator team dedicated to expertly caring for fish tanks in and around the Twin Cities. We have over 35 years of experience installing, cleaning and maintaining aquariums.

What does routine fish cleaning service include?

During our routine aquarium cleaning visits we will test water quality, freshen water by changing 10-15% of it, siphon gravel to remove build-up of excess fish food and debris, remove filters and safely clean all their parts, remove decor to sanitize to remove any film, clean the glass of the fish tank and ensure all the marine life is happy and healthy.

How much does fish tank cleaning cost?

Freshwater and saltwater upkeep cost depends on the size and water type of your aquarium. We provide free quotes here, or shoot us a text – we’d be happy to chat!

How often do I need my freshwater aquarium cleaned?

We recommend routine cleaning and maintenance of freshwater aquariums every 3-4 weeks to keep fish, plants and decor looking their best.

How often do I need my saltwater aquarium cleaned?

To keep livestock healthy and the fish tank looking it’s best, we recommend routine cleaning and maintenance of freshwater aquariums every 2-3 weeks.

SHould you quarantine new fish before introducing them into your fish tank?

Absolutely. We quarantine all new fish and livestock before introducing it to your pre-established, healthy ecosystem. This ensures that any diseases that the livestock may carry is not spread to other fish or marine life in your aquarium.

Can i choose any fish or livestock i want for my fish tank?

Based on our 35+ years of experience, we know every species has a temperament and recommend what we feel is best for your aquarium’s environment to ensure health and well-being for all the marine life living there.

My tank has been neglected for a while — can it be brought back to health?

In almost every case, yes. Cloudy water, algae buildup, and stressed fish can usually be turned around with a proper cleaning and a consistent maintenance schedule. We'll let you know honestly what to expect on your first visit and how many visits it may take to get the tank back to where it should be. We’re here to help you enjoy the beauty that an aquarium can bring to your space as well as make sure that the aquatic life inside are living in a healthy environment.

I'm taking over a fish tank from a previous owner/business — can you help?

Absolutely, this is something we help with often. Whether you've just moved into a home with an aquarium already set up, or your office inherited a tank when a neighboring business closed or moved, we're happy to take a look, assess the tank's current health, and get it onto a regular maintenance schedule. No judgment if it hasn't been cared for in a while — we'll walk you through exactly what it needs.

Do you service both homes and businesses/offices?

Yes, we maintain aquariums in both residential and commercial settings, including offices, medical and dental practices, and restaurants. We service homes in the Twin Cities and surrounding western and northwestern suburbs.

How far do you travel/what areas do you serve?

We provide fish tank cleaning and aquarium maintenance in the Twin Cities and surrounding Minnesota suburbs including: Minneapolis, Bloomington, Edina, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Medina, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Osseo, Otsego, Rogers, St. Michael and Elk River.

Can you take over maintenance from another aquarium service?

Yes, this happens more than you'd think, especially as other providers retire or step away. We'll do a full assessment of your tank's water quality, equipment, and livestock before our first cleaning, so we understand exactly how it's been maintained and can pick up right where things left off, or make improvements if needed.

Do you offer one-time cleanings, or only ongoing plans?

No ongoing plans are required, but for the health of your fish tank and the life living inside, we prefer to keep regular maintenance which is month to month for freshwater fish tanks and every 2-3 weeks for saltwater fish tanks.

Is there a contract, or can I cancel anytime?

We don’t use contracts. We stand by the quality of our service, so you are free to cancel anytime.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, check and digital payments via Venmo or Square.

Do you provide supplies (food, filters, etc.), or do I need to buy them?

We are familiar with the proper diets, supplies and equipment to nourish the inhabitants and keep your aquarium system healthy and running smoothly. Most of our clients utilize us for this service as well.

What happens if my fish gets sick or dies?

We do our best to ensure the health of the fish and life under our care. If needed, we will nurse a fish back to health to the best of our abilities. If a fish dies, we can assist in removal.

Do you repair equipment like filters, heaters, or lighting, or just clean?

Yes. We are full-service aquarium maintenance, meaning we provide care for the entire system as well as the life living inside.

Do I need to be home for my appointment? can you service after hours?

You do not need to be home. Many of our clients are comfortable with us servicing their fish tank while they are not home, out of town or before business hours. We can accommodate a time that is best for you or your business.

Are the products you use safe around kids and pets?

Yes, our products are safe around kids and pets.
